Samsung
is the latest multinational tech enterprise to release a faulty
update that escaped their DevOps and caused users' systems to crash. In echoes of the
CrowdStrike Meltdown, Samsung rolled out a buggy update to its phones
that caused many older models to be unable to boot. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/10/samsung-update-bricks-phones-giving-harsh-reminder-of-data-backup-importance/
That bug left users unable to boot their phones and caused the loss of vital data they contained when the phones cannot be revived except with a factory reset. Users are urged to implement software routines to back up their data off the phone, such as cloud and other solutions. ![]() |
